I figured I'd try to leave out what I'm leaning towarRAB to try and get some unbiased opinions that may lead me down a different path. I've had almost constant back pain for the last 16 months. It is typically in my upper back, feels like under my shoulder blades. It is usually one or the other. Sitting seems to make it worse, and at times I do get shooting pains, almost feels like electric current shoot up from under my shoulder blade into my neck. I would describe the typical pain as almost a bruising feeling, or like a tired muscle. These areas are not sensitive to the touch, and touching, or pressing on them when in pain does not seem to make it worse. My left arm often feels nurab, as well as tingling sensations in my left hand. At night however, the pain shifts to my lower back. I sleep on my stomach, and the pain gets so severe that I can not sleep. Even when I do get some sleep, it feels like I haven't. I get extremely fatigued at work, and sometimes feel like I'm just spacing out. Fyi, I work at an office on a computer.

I have seen numerous Dr's, Specialists and Chiropractors in the last year and a half and still do not know what is wrong. An mri came back "fairly normal".

I have been on a plethora of medication, and nothing yet has worked for the pain.

Any ideas would be appreciated more than you know!

Thanks!

Hard to say....I'm betting its in the neck area!....I had a two level lurabar 360 last Dec....and since have been trying to find the pain indicator that is similar to yours...I had an MRI of my Thoracic and Cervical spine and found damage with both...hard to say what one is causing this but most lean towarRAB the neck....I am scedualed for a discogram to rule one or the other out.....Good luck! I hope someone has more info for you.

Thanks for the information. I have tried every otc medication out there, and nearly prescriptions from percocet, vicodin the muscle relaxers and now neurontin. None have seemed to do much for the pain. I'll have to check about another mri for the neck. Appreciate the replies.
