Any ideas for a year long Biology project on the Scientific Method?

I have to do a year long report using the Scientific Method for my Biology honors class. I'm having trouble coming up with something to observe. Any ideas?

I have to make observations everyday. So it would have to be something I could do locally (I live in Louisiana).
