Over the years, I have went to many different doctors. I have always hurt. Ached. Usually I could blame it on allergies. But not 100% of the time. At age 13 I had nodules in my right leg below the knee and in both hands. I took oral steroids and in time they went away. The ones in my hands returned once but went away on their own. At age 17, I got shingles - a very bad case of them all the way around my waist. I kept the blisters for the right amount of time but I kept the pain for a year. When I turned 22, I got shingles again. This time I caught it sooner and was able to minimize the "pain time" from them by taking the medication that prevents you from breaking out. After having my first child, I broke out again - again, I was able to get the medicine and minimize the time limit I had them.
When I turned 28, I had bursitis in my right leg. I went through Physical Therapy and took steroid shots. When I turned 32 I found out that not only did I have bursitis in both legs, I also had a lateral labrum tear in my right hip and I had to have surgery to repair the damage. I am still recovering from that surgery. The pain from the tear is gone, but I am still sore from the surgery, which I know is normal.
But since I turned 18 I have just hurt. All over. My knees. My arms. My legs. My ankles. All my joints. I have been tested for lupus, and it was negative.
Does anyone know what could be causing me to hurt like this most of my life? Doctors won't run the tests because they don't think that I have anything, but I am too old to have "growing pains" now.
