I'm really interested in becoming a professor of history, but I have no idea how to get to such a high status. I'm going into grade 12 next year and obviously I'm taking history class and being a Teaching Assistant for a grade 11 Socials class. I'm a straight A student and I'm planning on going to either UVIC or UBC where I'll take courses in history and education. Could anybody lay out for me what I'd have to do to be a professor of history?
PS. I do realize it'll take a lot of work and that I won't graduate from university and get a job teaching just like that. I'm just hoping for some career advice.
