Any help would be great!!!

I am 37yr old male who suffers from extreme back pain and burning in my left buttocks which radiates down into my thigh but stops at my knee.. My MRI results show I have Facet Hypertrophy with ligament flavum thickening.. DDC with dessication, posterior annular tear and central disc protrusion with deforming the ventral aspect of the thecal sac.. Some focal neurocompression.. All this is at the l5-S1.. I went to a pain clinic where they gave me pain meRAB, muscle relaxer and did 2 epidural lurabar steroid injections which hasnt helped at all.. What exactly does these results mean?? The pain seems to worsen as I sit or ride.. Sneezing and coughing is painful as well.. I have a 6mos old girl who I cant really pick up or play with.. What should i do at this point???
 
Hi, and welcome to the forum, tho I am sorry for the situation you find yourself in. What kind of doctor did you see who diagnosed you? If not a spine specialist, then finding one should be your next step.

It does sound like you may need surgery, since you got no relief from the injections. Was anything said about nerve compression?

I just think it is time to have a good talk with your spine specialist about your option. As far as the results of your MRI....he should have thoroughly explained that to you. It always bothers me when someone comes here because they weren't given enough time by their doctor. I suggest you type in each phrase ( such as facet hypertrophy) so that you can truly understand. If memory serves me, that is from arthritic changes but I really don't remeraber for sure. If no one else comes along to clearly explain those MRI results, just try the internet for your answers.

Thank u Carol 4 responding... My primary care had the MRI done and I was reffered to a ortho spine specialist who said he didnt think surgery was needed then... He sent me to PT and then a pain clinic.. My MRI was 2yrs ago and the pain has gotten unbearable.. My pain doc said to give the last injection 1 month and no relief Id go to a neuro -spine specialist... My pain doc tried to read my MRI images and report but I was still confused.. Im off to a nero doc in 2 weeks after I go back to pain clinic.. If I do have surgery Im just curious what one I would need.. Ive heard horror stories about most of them... Anywho thanks 4 your input
