I'm looking at this truck, I've always been a V8 guy so I'm kind of in the dark about the Ford 300 I6. From what I gather, its very much a towing/reliability engine. Heres whats been done to the engine:

- Newer engine w/ 11K on it, 300 I6 bored .030, hyper pistons, 9:1 comp, Comp 268H cam
- Offenhauser C-Series single-plane
- Holley 470 Truck Avenger 4V carb
- Carb spacers, 2" of spacer
- Lokar stainless braided throttle and kick down linkage
- Hedman Header
- Custom Gibson Exhaust - Y-Pipe/Magnaflow Stainless Hi-Flow Cat/Gibson stainless 24" muffler/Magnaflow 3" tip, 15 degree rolled tip tucked neatly up under the fender... Sounds amazing.
- V8 Torque converter (1600-1800 stall)
- Stainless hardware
- Taylor 8.2 Thundervolt wire set (matches the paint)
- Flex-A-Lite red/chrome fan

Can I expect this truck to be fast or is it just going to be a towing monster? Any idea for HP and TQ numbers?
He has the 9", 31 spline rear in with 2.47 gears.

Well your gear ratio is going to be the key in your question. Most stock 300's will pull a house over and still wrap the RPMs you can get from a v8.Since this one is built then you'll probably be getting a good deal. The 300 is a very tough engine and will out last most engines out there.
