Any bird experts here? A very large one came fishing for my goldfish in my backyard...

...pond today.? I wonder what it is? I have a photo of it. I don't know if it is a heron? or some sort of crane? It had a long neck and somewhat long legs, but the legs were not as long as a stock or flamingo. I turned on the sprinklers to shoo him away from my fish in the pond and he flew to the roof of a nearby barn and came back later. Not sure how to post a photo here.
He looked gray.

The previous answer could be correct but also look up a sandhill crane if it was kind of big.

If you live in the UK you could have seen the Grey Heron. Dit it look like any of these.
