Any 2008 Chevy Aveo owners that can offer me feedback?

We are looking at possibly purchasing a used 2008 Aveo with 13,300 miles for $7499.00. The car was owned by 1 single man for 5 months before he traded it in for a SUV. CarFax states the car is certified and perfect.

I am looking for any feedback from owners to help us make our decision.

Is the price fair? How comfy are these cars? How do they handle the winter roads? How accurate are the fuel ratings? How is the sound system?

Why?

Did you know the Aveo is really Korean made Daewoo?

For $7500, you can buy a far better car.

My sister had a 2004 & it was crap. Korea has been known to use softer metals in their engines. Because their country is so small, they build them accordingly. They never anticipated those cars being driven to death over here. My sisters car was getting rebuilt at 70K miles and she did everything recommended. In Korea, they would drive a car 3-5K miles every yr & they would last 10+ yrs easily. Not so over here. Daewoo, who builds the Aveo, did try selling cars here in the U.S. But after 4 yrs & tons of bad reviews, questionable reliability, & poor resale, they pulled out very quickly. So, for the amount of money you plan to spend on it, I would look at a Honda Civic. It has a better ride than the Aveo. It was always bumpy & had tons of road noise. The stereo was crap too. Very weak, not clear, & tiny buttons. They may have changed it for 08, but I wouldn't count on it. In the winter it handles like any typical fwd car. Good to a point if the snow isn't but 6 inches or less. It did get 35 mpg on good days, but it had to struggle to keep up on the hwy. It was for sure not a good car to take on trips. You actually feel very fatigued after 6 hrs in it. Well, it's up to you, but I will never allow another family member of mine own anything from Korea. Good day to you!
