Anxious

I am so glad I found this site. I have been dealing with the same symptoms as I have read from other members...upset stomach, not sleeping well, anxious, feeling like I have the flu. I wake up worrying and go to sleep the same way. I just retired from teaching after 38yrs. and will be getting married next month. My brother has celiac disease and every day I worry that I will get it..or that there is something else wrong with me health wise. I give myself all of these diseases and then try to talk myself out of them. I feel like I am going crazy. I have a Dr. app. in July and I am getting blood work done. I read on one message that getting your thyroid checked would be a smart thing to do so I am going to ask for that. I get blood work done often anyway because I am on cholesterol med. Just reading and finding others with the same symptoms truly helps me and I don't feel like I am alone. Thank you so much for sharing!:)

Excells: make sure you get tested for diabetes. I'd recommend you get a vitamin test too to see if you're low in Vit B12. B vitamins help with the nervous system. See if you're low in magnesium too. It's more common than you think. Do you crave chocolate? That's a sign of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is also reduced in the body if you drink caffeine.

Adding a little bit of progesterone cream to your wrists before bed might help you also. Progesterone helps you sleep. I'm sure you're way past menopause but your body still makes progesterone and it's made from the adrenal glands. Alot of anxiety will put stress on the adrenals and make you tired. There are herbal supplements out there to help with adrenal support.

Get tested for the Celiac, too. Have you tried going gluten free anyway? It might help to start there. Alot of diabetics end up with Celiac. They're both autoimmune disorders. Take care.

My goodness, why haven't you been tested for Celiac?! I've been gluten free since 2005 after I was diagnosed and it's not that bad. (in fact, they just came out with gluten free Bisquick mix, delicious!) A simple blood test can rule it in or out and ease your mind.

All first degree relatives of celiac patients are supposed to be tested, your chances of having celiac dramatically increase when a first degree relative has it - chances for celiac are 1 in 100 for regular folks, 1 in 20 for dads/moms, brothers/sisters.

(never go gluten free before testing, it will give a false-negative result)
