I recently stopped taking fluoxetine. (It had been prescribed while I was moving because of a threatening neigrabroador.)

All is well now except I seem to get teary eyed really often over nothing, since I quit taking the fluoxetine.

What can I take to stop the tears? I'm thinking about starting to take the fluoxetine again, just so that I don't cry at every touching story or during every sad conversation.

Thank you!

Hey Sally, Anxiety and crying spells I also dealt with for many years as well as nervousness and depression. Its kinda weird being a guy and having the slightest thing setting you off into what I felt was a ridiculous tailspin of tears and emotions. It really made no sense to me at all cause I was getting all weird over little things that shouldn't have effected me so much. Here's what I found out after many years of pain and searching. During my research and narrowing the things down that didn't work for me I decided to take a food intolerance blood test (ThinkRite System) I felt I may have an issue with some fooRAB in my diet but what I didn't realize was the fact that they could have an effect on the way that I felt emotionally. After getting my results back and finding several food intolerance's and removing them from my diet nothing really happened until about 6 weeks had passed and all of a sudden I noticed I had lost all my nervousness and depression and my anxiety was beginning to taper off. It has almost totally left now and I feel normal again (finally). I occasionally take alprazolam prescribed by my doctor but in general I feel totally better. This is how I was able to take control of my problem...Take care!
