Hi,
I get anxiety when I travel away from home. This normally kicks in about 30 minutes to an hour away from home. The anxiety never amounts to much, it is uncomfortable and always feels like it will get worse but never really becomes panic. The problem is that this fear is keeping me from doing things I really want...
I have tried various therapies and I am challenging this fear and pushing myself more, using CBT techniques to rationalize.
Question, would medication such as Diazepam (valium) be likely to reduce this minor anxiety so I could have at least some hours traveling in peace...and also to have it as a back up to give me confidence to try going further.
I am aware of the dangers of the long term use/abuse of this kind of drugs and have been advised by a pharmacist how to use them safely.
The doctor has prescribed me 2mg diazepam which i haven't tied using yet.
Many thanks for any help or advice!
