Anxiety and lack of exercise?

I never got this before, but within the past 2 years i had been getting a lot of bad anxiety to the point that i'm uncomforatable, have chest pain, tingling and other random stuff. Part is stress induced i think.. Anyhow i recently started working out and it's all gone, i have no anxiety at all anymore, is this normal? I mean it kind of make sense that my body is burning off the anxiety it normally can't release if i'm not working out, but is this a common thing?
