I remeraber hearing that being on an antidepressant for too long can actually make your anxiety symptoms worse. Is there any truth to that, or is that just something the nay-sayers came up with?

Hi, I know that if your on an antidepressant for a long time it can lose its effectivness in your body. So usually change to a new one.

Anxiety and depression go hand in hand. There are some antid.. that are made for anxiety as well as depression...Zoloft, Lexapro are 2 of them that I know of. I've been on both. Actually i just started zoloft about 2 months ago and its working great.
I was on lexapro for 8 years and the drug wore off in my system it hasn't been working for a while now. So i swithed You have to find out what is best for you.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info Rock. I've been on and off prozac for about 5 years at 20 mg. I was starting to get anxiety again so I upped it to 40 mg.
