ok i know the answer to this riddle but i want to know if anyone can get it right.

ok three guys walk into a motel they talk to the clerk rooms are $30 the clerk says so each of the three pay $10 the three get to their room and then the clerk realizes he over charged the 3 by $5 so he calls the bell boy he gives the bell boy the $5 bills. on the way to the room the bell boy realizes he can't split $5 evenly between 3 guys so he sticks 2 in his pocket he gets to the room and hands each guy one dollar.
ok so now the three paid $9 which equals $27 each and the bell boy took $2 which equals $29 were did the last dollar go?

first right answer 10 points
you are write natalie
you do get 10 points
but i was looking for the math is correct but the solution is not probable because it is right math they did technically pay only $9 each and the bell boy did put $2 in his pocket but it does not equal thirty
but you did have it correct in the fact that the dollar never was missing.

Look at this as if the 3 were charged correctly.

The room costs $25 or $8.33 per person. They paid $30 or $10 each and then got $1 dollar back (for a net of $9 each). The difference between what the room costs($25) and what each paid (3 x $9 = $27) is $2. The bellboy kept this. There is no extra dollar

they were only supposed to pay $25.

thye paid $30

they needed $5 back.

the bell boy keeps $2, and gives them $3.

the 2+3= the $5 they were owed.

there is no left over dollar!
