Well, if it's not one thing, it's another... The fall I had last Friday..well, it's been a week now...and the knee is still sore...as expected, and according to my family Dr. it will be sore for a while..have to rest it..so I'm supposed to keep off my feet.. The other thing is, wow, my back is really acting up...when I'm walking and sitting...it is like a major ache in the lower back..and the leg is worse. I had pain in same area before fall...my normal pain..but this is worse...the longer I sit, the more pressure & ache I feel and the more pain.. I DO NOT LIKE THIS. I am taking my pain meRAB..and they do help.. I know the knee is happy in bed, but that is the only place the lower back/ outer leg are happier too. Wonder what I did now. Just needed to fall again...that's what started this mess with the back 5 yrs. ago. I have an appt. with neurosurgeon on Monday.
Anyone have a clue as to what I might have done now??

I hope your knee does get better after rest and such, as you certainly don't need another source of pain. I wish I could say why your back issues are feeling worse now. I can only guess maybe you twisted suddenly or slightly and maybe something happened to a disc? Or maybe it's just a coincidence and not related at all? I really dont know. For some of us, though, it doesn't seem to take much to do something to our backs. You didnt fall on your rear or side at all, did you? Thankfully you have an appt right around the corner and I hope the doc investigates this for you. In the mean time, keep resting in hopes it will help your knee heal.

I agree with baybreeze, you might have done something to a disc. I hope they take new MRI's or Xrays to make sure! For now, perhaps when you are sitting on the couch, get a pillow and lean against the opposite side, that helps me take the pressure off of the area and enjoy my family (or just the TV), plus I put a heating pad where it hurst the most for as long as I can stand it. I hope this is something you can do and give it a try until then. Of course, if the pain gets too bad, call the docs emergency line. That is what they are there for. I hope you feel better real soon.

Thanks Baybreeze & Lisa...
When I fell...the right leg...(hurty side of back already) did a backwarRAB thing from the knee down...and then the left leg just kind of dropped to the ground before the big roll (that's the rest of me...rolllll)... I think it shifted the spine somehow...not sure...but that is what I think I felt. My Neuro. will be happy..he wants another MRI...standing...and I was sure the insurance co. would not pay for it...(had too many of them already)...now he has a new reason. I don't know what I shifted in there...but it just progressively gets worse when I am sitting..or standing... So I am taking little breaks from laying down..to do stuff...and catch up on the puter...
Thanks for thinking of me...talk later..

Sage I was thinking maybe its a posture problem. My feet have been really swollen lately and I am walking with a limp. I would imagine you are walking differently to and I think its affecting my back because mine is acting up now too. I hope you feel better soon. Take Care, Dee

Leslie,
Sorry you are having so much trouble! Seems us spineys go from one thing to another....never ending! Feel better sweetie and let us know what the doc says on Monday. Take it easy till then. (((((((big, gentle hug))))))

Hi Leslie. Sorry things are not so rosey right now. That was a nasty fall gal. Hopefully the back pain is nothing more than a super flare up to the fall and it's just gonna take some time to settle back down again.

Im having my first extensive flare up since the surgery myself.

If laying down is making your back and knee happiest, that is where I would be.

Let us know what happens at the docs tomorrow and hang in there.
