Another tale of hotel BS....

Wow another shitty story. So it's 3am. At 1:30 am I checked in these people. They were young pretty girls, all goth and peirced, but cute. They say they need a non-smoking room for 2. I get them checked in and send them on their way.

So I have a smoke and walk around the hotel, there was a break-in across the street the other day. I see the girls, and of course, their 2 boyfriends get out of their car to go to the room. I think to myself, "Typical." I just shine it on, it's late. They maybe didn't have a lot of money, so I just keep walking.

So I go out at 2:30 am, they're still awake, being loud, and now they have their shades wide open, and 'lo and behold, they're fucking smoking in the non-smoking room. Why the FUCK ask for a non-smoking room then? I had plenty of smoking ones and told them so. So I just shake my head and walk on.

I get back to the office and now people are being woken up by these wonderful teens. I call their room, and they ignore the call.

So fuck it, I gear up, get a pass key, and head to the room. Now I could have been fucking sleeping since 12am, which I would have preferred. I get to the room and knock. No answer. FINE. I knock again, use the pass key, and walk in. They're a bit shocked.

I say "You lied about how many people were in your room, you're smoking in a non-smoking room, and you're waking people up, give me one reason why I shouldn't kick you out right now?"

They look blankly at me. One of the girls is like, "Well... you do what you think is right."

I say "OK look. Stop smoking in the room, go outside the door is like 20 feet down the hall. I don't care if you lied about how many people you have, it's almost three in the morning, just keep it down."

She says "I swear we are trying to be quiet."

I look at them and say "Look, just keep it down and PLEASE don't make me come down here again."

They still have that shocked, stupid look on their faces. I shake my head and walk away.

I'm just too fucking lenient I think, we'll see if it bites me in the ass and requires me to kick them out, possibly involving the police if they get nasty.
I was young, shit I still am young, and like to party. I just don't go to some hotel and fuck up people's entire night to do it.

Do you think I should have just kicked them out?
 
Should've kicked their punk asses out. They're little shits and needlessly lied to you, fuck them and fuck their lies. You should've kicked them out and banned them from the hotel, I would have. :thumbsdn:
 
It's after 6am now, no calls about them, they might have went to bed. Now let's see if they destroy the room. I may have ACTUALLY gotten through to them, that would be a first.
 
That sucks. Sounds like they did that to totally piss people off and then played innocent when you walked in. Very manipulative.

Yeah, next time be a little more stern. Not kick them out but move them into a smoking room and whatever other bullshit, like, move them to the shittiest room in the hotel or the worst view or the most inconvenient room. You know what I mean, play their game and be super nice, don't let it seem like you're phased. They're just kids taking advantage.
 
honestly, jlxc, i probably would have done what you did, but the thing to do would be to kick them out. i can't stand that.

but think about this: they're either complete jerks, or they're in that stage where the universe revolves around them. that much is completely evident. do you think that by kicking them out or even by calling the cops you'll teach them anything whatsoever? they'll just think you're a jerk for cramping their style as opposed to really reflecting upon their own behavior and deciding what they did pushed the limit of good taste and courtesy.

You're too nice. I would have kicked them out. Not cuz they let their bf's come and stay in the room with em, but because they were smoking in a no smoking room. Some people have breathing conditions and even if the room was completely cleaned out they can still tell that someone was smoking in there.

And second because they were disturbing other people in the hotel.

Although, I do give you a shitload of respect for givin em a warning first.
 
I'd have done the same thing, JL. Not because it's what I would've wanted to do, but because I'd probably get bitched at for not giving them a warning before kicking them out. Stupid kids. :rolleyes:
 
I think the warning was the way to go. Sure they were acting stupid but they're young and the two tend to go together. At least you didn't walk in on them smokin a spliff doing lines off a hookers ass..
