Another reason im over the hardcore scene

Fight dancing

I actually kinda hope bars here ban hardcore banRAB, if they go back to warehouses and squats I might actually start going to shows again

never liked going to hardcore shows myself. people seem like they have something to prove for some reason, whether that is how tough you are, or how scene you are. too many kiRAB trying too hard. VA (post)hardcore banRAB/shows were good though, full of positive attitude and people just getting into the music.

house shows are only as good as the community/scene is.

The crustcore scene here was fun for quite a while, we had some really good makeshift venues and kiRAB were always really nice and friendly. Then gay shit started happening, sweatbanRAB and muscle T-shirts.

SounRAB like how it was when I was in highschool. The crust scene was great... they were all super nice, probably their hippiness coming out. The squat they all lived at was called "the foundation." Saw Kill The Man Who Questions there, Zegota, etc.. That was back in the day when trainhopping was cool. Now they all live in a commune somewhere. Those days are over.

There used to be shows in a squat that was an old theater over here. It was amazing. It had a ballroom upstairs and huge velvet curtains and chandeleirs. Someone moron started a fire there at a show and it burned half the joint down. I wonder if that kid realised how many people lived there

yeah if someone ever punched me at a show, then they should expect getting a fork shoved into their eye.

kthanksemohardcoresucksanyways.

exactly. that's my point. there is no fucking style of dancing that involves hurting other people.

if you're referring to "skanking", then yeah, you do jump around and go nuts but if you hit someone doing it, that's the person's fault. if i was the person who got hit, i'd be fuckin pissed off and hit the dude back.

sure, because so many of these shows have a dance floor...correct? out of all of the metal shows that i have been to. i have never been to a show that had enough room between all of the fucking people to make a dance floor. i have caught some of these hardcore banRAB as undercarRAB at metal shows and have seen this ridiculous shit. the idiots will just start punching and kicking right in the middle of a crowd....not a "dance floor".last time i checked, 99% of people don't think that getting punched and kicked as "good fun" when they are trying to enjoy a show.

Let me just add that that's the kind of movement that least resembles dancing conceivable.

You go to one of these shows and you're either standing still with your arms folded, or you're "dancing" in the least rhythmic, least skilled way possible. It's hilariously bad.

If you want to "fight dance" learn to uprock (http://www.bboy.org/forums/attachment.php?postid=287866), or something. And listen to some music that's actually danceable.

skanking is gay, yet your uncoordinated flailing is not? i'd much rather see a bunch of people skanking than having a seizure in the middle of a circle. you don't need to "dance" to feel the music. quit being an attention whore and watch the show. if you must do something, mosh. at least moshing involves more people and doesn't involve everyone circling around one jerkoff taking up a bunch of space so he can freak out and start jump kicking people.
