Could the 2 screens on the fuel pump just be clooged and the fuel pump ok? trying to save the $200 + for the cost of the pump. Since I have the tank dropped and the pump out, changing the 2 screens/filters should be easy. Any easy way to test the fuel pressure to see if the screens/filters were the problem?
We haven't run out of fuel, but thanks for that suggestion. I admit I was just getting ceap with the filter(s) changing thought and will just go ahead and replace the pump and filters. The line fuel filter was replaces 2 days ago, but the engine wout idle, will drive and if I kepp the rpm's up I can stop it without the engine dying. No engine check light on, but there is this red lighted icon on the lower left of the dash that I believe indicates a fuel system problem. Any idea what the pressure is supposed to be? (Think I heard the min. is 60 psi)
