Hello all, I having been posting here & at spinal cord disorders cause so much has been going on since my 3 level fusion 11 months ago that I am soo confused on where to vent and get the best advice and comfort. Anyhow I know being apart of health boarRAB gives me that and Thank you to all!!
Now since my surgery I have found out alot of new information on why I'm in so much pain. My surgery was afusion & decompression in the L4, L5,& S1 AREA. I was told for 7 months that my body was rejecting my screws after getting advice form this board to seek a 2nd opinion I did so. This is what is going on ... my surgery was only partially done no bone growth on the right side. due to having3 screws on one side & only 2 on the other no caging was done so the result was no bone growth. At the level L4 my right side of my screw is poking into my L3-L4 cause the screws were put in at a slant. Unfortantly I have tohave the whole surgery done over again.
But my question is has anyone had a diskogram while they still had screws in??? I was told it is more difficult to do and wondering if anyone has been through this and what to expect. any advice is appreciated.

That is crazy. I hope you are using another doctor to do the second surgery!
I am so sorry you are going thru this! I haven't had the second discogram-thank heavens-I would cry like a spanked baby all the way in!
This really sounRAB like the first surgeon was experimenting on your back to see what would hold or was holding back on instrumentation to save time or money. Just my opinion. Did they use BMP, your own bone or cadaver bone?
You may need a third opinion as well as an attorney. Are you workman's comp? This kind of incompetence makes me so MAD!
I would expect pain and lots of bed rest. Drink as much fluid/water after to flush the dye out of your system. Ice-20 minutes on every hour.
I will be praying for you! Scream as loud as you can when they do the proceedure-make it worth your pain! .
Well I have a nuero surgeon now & he's the best we have in Wi. I also am looking for an attonery now to see what my rights are. The ortho had used artificial bone for my fusion. No workmens comp. just DDD so I pretty much am screwed as far as ccounting on that. I also have bulging disk again in the L4,L5 &S1 again so hope fully things will be on the right track now and get done the right way!!!!
