...to do? My son has been getting in trouble more often at school and I just received a call from the principal. He bit someone in gym class! It was a friend and luckily the skin wasn't broken but it is still unacceptable and I don't know what to do anymore. The principal put him on speaker phone so I could talk to him and all I could hear was him crying. They took recess off the rest of the week and there will be punishment at home as well, I'm surprised they didn't suspend him again.
It seems to be getting worse. He got suspended right before Easter for hitting, kicking and punching. He went to he principal's office 3 times in one day for various non-violent things a couple months ago and he has been scratching people just as of last week.
His teacher is sending home weekly reports and we have an appointment at a behavior specialist Monday, hoping we can figure out what is causing his violent and impulsive behavior.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong for him to be acting this way. What can I do?
I know someone is going to suggest spanking which had been tried in the past and doesn't work. He gets luxuries taken away, we have him do extra school work, etc. but it's only putting a band-aid on a broken bone.
He is in baseball which he loves. I was hoping it would help get rid of some of his energy and show him how to work together but apparently it's not.
