About 6 years ago I severely sprained my left ankle in a basketball game when I was 22, grade 2 sprain according to the physician and had about 2 months of physical therapy to recover, no surgery.
I had no problems since then slightly twisting it a few times after that but nothing really serious.
A few days ago during a basketball game I landed awkwardly after a fast break lay up, I didn't twist or sprain the ankle but it just felt strange. A few plays later all of a sudden just walking into position during a dead play it felt like the back of my ankle on the both sides of my left ankle slipped out of place and I had some serious sharp pain. It was like someone stabbed my ankle. It has been two days since and when I walk I feel fine, no pain, but randomly my ankle feels like it slips out of place and I feel that same pain. If I stand on my toe and put pressure on it, I feel pain on the back sides (both sides) of my ankle. Anyone what this is called, and how I can fix it?
