Ankle and lower let swelling

a guy

I have been jobless and without health insurance for 1 year. 3 days ago I found a job and i went from hardly ever walking to walking all over and all sorts of sitting, standing and new shoes. After 3 days of alot of activity I noticed my lower leg (mid calf) to my ankle and part of my feet were a bit swollen. I am a bit scared as I still need to wait 3 months to get health insurance from my new job. Could it be the shoes I was wearing? I put on 2" inch heels for the 1st 2 days and my back was killing me, so I bought lower "kitty" heels. I am 58 yrs old.

Congratulations Blaze83 beginning a job since you've been without so long.

Oh definately yes your shoes can have alot to do with your feet, ankles and calves. Especially since your not so use to being on them like you are now with your new job and all. Wear what is comfortable to you. If your feet are swelling elevate them when you can. Soak them in epsom salt to refreshen.
You may even need to try the gel inserts into your shoes.

Hope you enjoy your new work. Congratulations again for finding a job.
