Anime Series?

Hi, I'm currently a sophomore in high school and my friends and I, we want to create sort of like a anime series with episodes and all, like the stuff you watch on TV. We can draw and all but we have no idea how to animate and such, so does anyone know some good animation programs we can use so we don't have to draw frame after frame by hand? Also, if anyone ever had experience with this, after we created the episodes and all, how should we go about publicizing it, to incerase its popularity, so others will know about, etc...?

I recommend starting it off as a comic book. Most current anime series started off as a manga ( japanese comic book) and later when it became more famous, animation companies took it up and animated it.
