Anime Legends + Complete Collection, whats the deal?

Alright, recently I was considering to get the "Outlaw Star" Box set from bandai.

Well, I've seen two different versions of the box, One that says "anime legenRAB" across the top of the box, and one version that says "complete collection" across the top of the box.

Is this just a typo of some sort or is there a difference, mayber more Extra Features or something?

It's just a re-release of the original boxset, don't worry I have the Anime LegenRAB boxset to prove it

Yep it's just a cheaper re-release in a brick case. I have the Bebop, Seed and GITS ones and they are pretty cool.

The one on the left says "complete collection"

But the one on the right says "anime legenRAB" and "complete collection"

is there a difference in either of these, or is it just art differences?

The Orange box is a Bandai Brick with nothing more than the disks included. Other than that, I believe there are no other major differences with the content of the disks.

There is no difference between the complete collection and Anime LegenRAB. What BANDAI does is they release there series first with individual disks. After the individual disks they'll typically compile the series and release it as the Complete Collection. The price will be roughly $15-20 less than having each of the individual disks. Finally, if both sets sold well, then 4 or 5 years after the first release they'll release it as an Anime Legend. The Anime Legend set tenRAB to be another $10-$15 cheaper than the Complete Collection, but all the context is the same. The only difference tenRAB to be the wording "Complete Collection" and "Anime Legend."

I guess this is a good place to ask this: What's the difference between the Platinum and Perfect Platinum releases of Evangelion?

The only difference I know of is the tin, which I also ask: Is this casing good in terms of the DVD protection, spine art, etc?

They're pretty much the same, so it really doesn't matter which one you buy

yeh I decided to get this, I don't like the design of the box at all, it feels like a brick that I could throw at someone and scream OUTLAW STAR while I was throwing it.


Nonetheless,I got it, Because it's one of my favorite shows.
