animations in facebook chat will not go away?

I signed into FB the other day, and these stupid animations keep popping up. If someone has a smiley face, it is a gigantic moving smiley face, and in chat, all of these stupid animations keep popping up for things like 'lol' and 'idk' and for every type of smiley face i type. I'm assuming i probably clicked on something and got myself a virus or something. I'm not sure how I got it, i just know I want it to go away ASAP. if anyone can help me that would be AWESOME. Thanks!
