Animated shows you've watched for a while and later decided not to watch them anymore

There are many animated shows in the past that I used to watch but after awhile decided not to watch them anymore. How about you?

Some examples: Recess, GoBots(campy Transformers clone), Spongebob, and so many others.

Pokemon. Lost interest sometime during The Johto Journeys and never came back for season 4 or after. I'm amazed the show's still on the air.

TMNT 2K. I watched the first season, but quickly lost interest. As someone who grew up on the 80's TMNT, the magic just wasn't there for me. I respect that they were sticking close to the comics, but I didn't care enough for the new series to stay with it.

Teen Titans.

It was a nice little escapist show for me for a while, but I began to lose interest around season 4 (though that admittedly was a decent arc) and by the time they got to the lackluster, tacked on 5th season, I was done.

The Simpsons: I used to watch it religiously when it was first on. I stopped watching it about 8 years ago. I just got tired of it. Lisa always annoyed me. There are only so many Homer Simpson making a fool of himself episodes a person can take.

Recess - I used to enjoy this show when it started on ABC, but it jumped the shark around the 4th season to the point where I no longer cared what happened on it anymore.

Gurren-Lagann

I seriously watched it so many times I got sick of it. I can't explain why in an orderly manor, so...

LOL HEY IM MANLY GGGGG LOOK AT MY MANLINESS AND LOOK AT HER UNNATURAL BREASTS FFFFFF NOW IM THE SIZE OF THE ****IN UNIVERSE BRO DILSAFJDBAFJSDBHZ KAMEHAHAHAUHAHAHAHAHHA

>_>

*clears throat*

Anyways, yeah. I basically got pretty sick of that after a while and just stopped watching it.

TMNT (2003) was great for the first 5 seasons, and then everything after that seemed like garbage to me.

Family Guy was much more enjoyable when I first stumbled upon it than it is now, most of the time I don't laugh at it and the plots are dull as well.

I had momentarily lost interest with Hey Arnold! when it was still on the air, but got back into it shortly after that.

Gurren Lagann, I stopped at episode 8. I think some of you might know why.
Teamo Supremo. It was too preachy. Ben 10 (the original I like Alien Force) It just annoyed me.
Oh and Squirrel Boy it was ok for a while but then I realized how whiny the boy was and how jerky the squirrel was. like Bloo x290.

But you've got to admit that "that incident" had to happen for the story to make sense. The whole thing was about Simon overcoming being in his bro's shadow and moving forward in his own right.

Unfortunatly the number of animated series that I watched and enjoyed but then stopped watching for no reason is a mile and a half long. Most recently Chrome Shelled Regios comes to mind, as does Tales of the Abyss for anime and Wolverine & the X-Men for regular cartoons, but the list is all to long and I feel bad about it at times, but thats how it goes.

Yeah, I agree. I thought the first episode was hilarious...but then as the series progressed, I started hating the random humor. It's definitely something of an acquired taste.

Indeed. I think the anime's off-the-cuff random WTF humour is awesome in its own right, but once you just watch it in a prolonged period of time you just can't fathom it anymore, and you want to just shake it into submission and ask it to "SLOW DOWN A BIT!".

Other shows I watched for a while and later decided not to include:

The Simpsons - "That '90s Show" was a deathknell for me in regards to the show.
Family Guy - I just stopped caring.
Totally Spies - For some reason I was on some big kick with this show. It was bad, but endearing in its own right. But after a while I just decided to forget about it and move on with my life.
Hey Arnold - Got really boring and the plot archetypes got overused and stale.
Powerpuff Girls - After the movie I just stopped caring for some reason. I'm sure there were perhaps some great episodes post-movie, but it didn't really matter to me anymore.
Dexter's Laboratory - The replace of Christine Cavanaugh with Candi Milo just... eh... Plus the animation style was too jarring for me and the episodes were not as a memorable.

I could go on but... we'll stop there.

Naruto- Watched the beginning up until the Itachi arc, where I started to get bored with it. Not sure why, Tsunade and everyone else afterward sort of bored me.

Fairly Oddparents- When Butch decided to focus more of attention on Danny Phantom (which is a little bit more superior than FOP, IMO) I decided to abandon ship. Especially when the plot point were the same everytime without a need to disguise it that it isn't. It seems like the show had some sort of ad-lib template where anyone can make a plot easily as long as it followed the same premise.

Dragon Ball Z: I think I made it up to where Trunks appeared from the future. I was totally gone when the pink guy showed up and ate everybody. I'm slowly getting back into the series, but I know for sure that I will not be buying all of the seasons.

Tenchi Muyo: I used to watch it all the time on cartoon network, but the last episode I distinctly remember watching had something to do with Tenchi meeting Yosho's father and his two wives. I'm more a fan of the OVAs.

TMNT 2003
The first few seasons were nice and had a streamlined story and writing. The later seasons are, quite simply put, a mess, and resort to bringing back the same villains over and over again.

Spectacular Spider-Man
Same reasons as TMNT, more or less. The first season was nice and streamlined with a focus point, but the second basically dropped that and pulled the 'villain of the week' card on us.

Fairly Oddparents. Watched it avidly a couple of years ago, saw it change into something obnoxious, yelled about it a lot (especially here :anime:) and with the exception of a couple of specials, never watch it now. Not even my fave eps anymore. The show's over-the-top style doesn't wear well.

I'm getting a bit weary of Spongebob. No real objections, just tired of seeing the same eps over and over. Although I'll admit the last few new eps haven't impressed me much (aside from the animation). The writing's been off for a while now.

I'll probably stop watching Kid vs. Kat unless its emphasis on making the Kid a cocky hero and the Kat an inept villian shifts permanently. It's irritating to find myself feeling more sympathy for the cat when the show is trying so hard to make me root for Coop.:shrug:
