I’ve noticed a lot of animated commercials as of late; some have been good while others have been bad, but I thought it might make a good topic for discussion. What is your favorite animated commercial? Also, which animated commercial is your least favorite? I’m sure many people are going to go with the Esurance advertisements as their favorite, but there are numerous animated commercials and I’m sure everybody has their own opinions.

I don’t particularly have a favorite, but my least favorite animated commercials are the Sales Genie commercials. They look horrible and they contain some blatant stereotypes that really get on my nerves.

Note: I hope linking to a commercial on youtube isn’t in violation of this forum’s policies. I read the thread and I believe a commercial would be permissible.
 
One group of animated commercials that are grating on my nerves are car commercials. They all look the same to me and they also feel so held back. The only car commercial I was ever interested in was the old Yaris commercial from last year where two Yarises raced each other Bob Camplet style. But every other car commercial I just see shiny raytracing and techno music.
 
I like the "Erin Esurance" commercials, because I like the style of the animation, and Erin is a real cutie. ;)

Doesn't Genndy Tartakovsky, the director of Samurai Jack, do the Esurance commercials? The animation styles are completely identical. And, of course, they are also my favorite animated commercials.

My least favorite animated commercial... I don't know as I can't remember many of the commercials I watch. I need a list of them to pick out a bad one.
 
I don't know many animated commercials that I like. Or any at all, besides that Esurance once and that Airwick one with the CGI random animals.

Is there like, a Wikipedia list I can look at to help jog my memory?
 
The only animated commercials that stick out in my mind are the Esurance commercials, she's hot!

I can't really think of any others.
 
1. Someone give that ******* rabbit some cereal.

2. I'm actually kind of liking the Lucky Charms commercials of late. The gimmick of each Charm having a separate magical power (like the heart giving life to inanimate objects, the moon making the bearer invisible) is kinda cool.
But I still loathe the cereal. Nasty slimy marshmallows floating in milk. Breakfast of champions! :ack:

3. Anyone notice that the people behind the Cookie Crisp commercials can't seem to make up their minds about their mascot? First it was a burglar and his dog, then just his dog, then a wolf wearing a sweater, and now a wolf who's nekkid. Why can't they use an animal that actually has a grain-based diet? Wouldn't that make more sense? Why not a cow or a goat or something?

4. In the beginning, there were 3 chefs representing Cinnamon Toast Crunch: 2 skinny ones and 1 fat one. Then suddenly...the 2 skinny ones vanished. What happened to them? Why is the fat one left? Did he eat the other two? I wouldn't be surprised. He kind of creeps me out, drooling over cereal that way. Ecch. BTW, Cinnamon Toast Crunch sucks too.

5. The Cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs bird bugs me, because when he freaks out, he steals Daffy Duck's trademark spazzes. IMO it's "dethpicable" when lesser talents steal from their betters. The cereal's good though.
 
Those commercials do rock. And I thought I read somewhere that a series was going to be spun off of them. I'm not sure I'm thrilled about the idea or not...
 
Oh yeah, I forgot about those.

I like the Red Bull commercials. "Red Bull gives you wings" has absolutely nothing to do with the drink, but it's so well-known now, you don't really care.
 
The Geico Gecko was cooler back in the days when Kelsey Grammer did his voice. I'm not sure how or when he developed the cockney accent.
