Based on PETA's reputation, can they really be a reliable source of information about companies that test on animals? What use is animal testing, and does testing make-up and toothpaste and candy really benefit us that much? Does the research have to have permission to be done? I'm so confused and annoyed that almost every product I own has killed a bunch of mice.

So tell me, who can we trust and what can we do about this problem? Do we try to fight or just ignore it?
Two-sided*
I want good, intelligent answers. True, everything is one-sided, but please, none of this "you should be ashamed" crap. Kthx.

testing animals with make-up and stuff is pretty pointless but some testing is needed. it did help stop the plague...

Every week three hamsters die. Forty mice die. And 1 monkey dies. Do you want that on your conscience. You should be ashamed of yourself.
