NOT THAT I HAVE AN OPINION EITHER WAY- So DO NOT attack me-
Okay, a farmers can castrate, dock and ear tag or tattoo their animals (4H included) and in addition you can have a vet declaw, remove du-claws, dock tails & crimp ears for animals... yet a woman was arrested and charged for animal cruelty for piercing her kittens ears? Why can anyone tattoo a bunny or sheep or ear tag any cattle, dock or declaw their animals, get your animals mirochipped (used an approx 14g needle, just like body piercing), among all these other forms of animal modficication, but you cannot pierce your dog or cats ears? I fully comprehend and agree that there are some disturbed people out there that would take things too far, but people are being charged with animal cruelty charges with or without this... we have a twisted world. I just dont understand why its ok for an id ear tag but not a stud in a dogs ear, or why people can used these same sized needles to implant microchips into their animals- seemingly the same concept. People can have their cats nails removed, however it is a much more invasive thing than that, its practically cutting their fingers off from the knuckles.I am not claiming to either agree nor disagree with any of the items listed, I simply would like to know how all these invasive things can be done that are acceptable and without the animals consent I am rather sure, and not necessarily to improve their health or well being, but for design or personal gain, but that some dumb girl puts 3 body piercings in her cat and she is attacked by PETA and charged with animal cruelty? I was informed she also attempted to ban her kittens tail to dock it, which I think is inappropriate, however it is done to baby sheep often and nobody is being charged for cruelty there?
As the general public, I wonder how people justify or explain the blatantly apparent hypocritical manner here. I love that people are fighting for the rights of these animals, despite the crimes accused or charged, if nobody were to fight for them- well they cannot fight for themselves....
