My husband and I just got married. Before the wedding, my parents in law offered to videotape the wedding. I wanted to hire a fairly cheap videographer that I knew. But my father in law said he has videotaped so many events, and that he knows what he's doing. Well, I trusted him. Today we watched the videotape. First of all, you could not hear ANYTHING we said during the ceremony (we had mics, too). Second of all, I changed from a poofy formal white dress for the ceremony into a slimmer informal black and white dress for the reception. The black on my dress is LIGHT BLUE. My father in law said he had filmed it in night vision... (???!!!). Lastly, during the important dances, only the heads of people are on the videotape. The rest is ceiling. I won't mention the other things wrong with it. I'm very upset, and I want to cry, and I want to ask my father in law why the heck he said he would do this when clearly he shouldn't have. What can I do to calm myself down right now?!?!?!
Also, the reason this matters so much to me is because my husband is deploying soon. I really wanted mementos of the wedding to look back on while he's away. They'll really be all I have while he's in Iraq. :(
