anger

Hi, I'm a 17 year old male. Over the last couple of weeks, I've begun to experience serious rage. However, I know I do not have a temper problem. All of a sudden anything that would regularly tick me off, makes me full of anger. I get extremely mad at people that don't deserve it. The strangest part is that I realize that I get angry. I warn my friends and tell them I know it's happening, yet I cannot control it. Today, it felt like I had to physically hold my anger inside of me. Can anyone give me an idea of what might be going on with me? Is it just hormones? Being a teenager? Or maybe I have a personality disorder? Every comment is appreciated.

If you are concious of it and it seems to really bother you, you need to do something about it. If you are a college see the councillor if not then see your doctor.

It could be your hormones like you say, at your age testosterone and other hormones are flooding your system. It should be leveling out as you hit your late teens. I don't think its a mental issue like bipolar, you just need a release. Take up a sport if you are not doing one, boxing is great for realease. You don't have to get in a ring or anything, just work out on a punchbag, some skipping etc. Focus your anger on the bag until everything starts to calm down.
