Angel fish with guppies?

I have a very large aquarium, 100+ gallons, and it's filled with guppies (they can't stop breeding!). I want angel fish because they're very beautiful, but I'm worried the guppies might nip at their long fins. Has anyone successfully kept angelfish with guppies? Also, what ph should the water be for angel fish?

Angelfish will eat guppies. In the wild they eat small fish like guppies and neons.

If you have a lot of plants and hiding places there is a chance that some guppies will live, but most likely the angelfish will eat them all.

Angelfish are cichlids- they can be aggressive, whereas guppies typically are a peaceful variety of fish. It would be much more likely that the angelfish would pick on the guppies and it would most likely eat them (since angelfish are carnivores). Generally it is not a good idea to place aggressive fish in a tank with peaceful fish, but sometimes it works.
If you were going to get angelfish it would be best to only get one if you were interested in putting it in a community tank. Angelfish typically become aggressive and territorial once they have paired with another angelfish- when alone they can be a peaceful and beautiful addition to the community tank- that is assuming that you don't mind the guppies becoming feeder fish for the angelfish.
The ph should be between 6.0 and 9.0. Good Luck.

The angels will eat the guppies depending on what size they are. If you get a half grown one I can almost guarantee you half the guppies will be gone in under one week (notice i said ALMOST guarantee).
