good post, very usefull post

hi subrata,

if you also post soft reset that will more power in thread.

like this,

HTC Dream Soft reset

A soft reset clears the device memory and closes running applications. Perform a soft reset when your device hangs or freezes, is running slower than normal, or an application is not performing properly. If a soft reset is performed when applications are running, unsaved information will be lost.
To perform a soft reset
1. Remove the back cover.
2. Remove the battery for a few seconds.
3. Re-install the battery, replace the back cover, then turn on the device

To remove the back cover
1. Make sure the device is turned off.
2. Hold the device sideways with the control buttons on the right.
3. Slide the screen panel up to reveal the keyboard and the back cover release tab.
4. Gently push down the release tab with your finger until the back cover disengages from the device.
5. Pull the back cover out then set it aside.

thanks your great work

I've reseted the MB501 but this phone is hardlocked (user entered to many times wrong subsidy code) so phone now dont detect ANY SIM CARD and don't ask for 'special code' for unlock whe you put a non-tmobile sim.

I've handled to bring the special code screen with this code #073887* but phone don't accept unlock code anymore. Always says unsuccessfully unlock try.

So until now no solution for hardlocked CLIQ XT Motorolas.

My two cents, hope someone can find a way to unlock this phone when is hardlocked.

How to hard reset the HTC Desire

We show you how to factory reset the HTC Desire to clear all data and restore its original settings

Published on Mar 18, 2010

The HTC Desire is highly customizable and you have been hard at work tweaking it to your liking, but now the fun is over and you want to return it to its factory settings again. Here, we show you how to hard reset the HTC Desire with step by step instructions.
Please note that all data will be deleted from the HTC Desire as a result of this procedure. This process does NOT delete data stored on the microSD card. We recommend backing up all of your personal data before proceeding.Turn the power off. If your HTC Desire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert itHold the Volume Down buttonPress and release the Power buttonYou are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and SimlockSelect Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down buttonPress and release the Power buttonNow simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NOIf you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

How can I make a hard reset on this model? I have done the following:

1. Holding the Camera button while turning on your phone,
2. When prompted hit the Volume-Down rocker button to go into Recovery Mode.
3. After you get into Recovery Mode,

But I cannot do the following, because this model does not have a keyboard.

4. Press ALT+L to reset, then Menu+Back to reboot.

I need to hard reset this phone because it is not reading the sim card anymore. The client tried the wrong subsidy code many times.
