Android Phone Question?

I'm thinking of getting the HTC Hero , but with the HTC Desire and HTC Legend coming out soon I'm not sure if I should wait for them . I was set on the Nexus One but it seems too expensive to get on PAYG , and it seems I'll be able to get the Hero for at least <£300 . I think the new phones come out end of March , but it seems too long to wait without a decent phone .
