I'm looking to get an Android based phone for T-Mobile, but I plan to buy it out-right and go with T-Mobiles month to month plan. I want a phone that is somewhat affordable (aka the Nexus One is out of the question) yet does what I need to and is upgradeable. I'm kind of confused about the Android OS's updating scheme. How is it done? How far can I upgrade an Android OS on a phone? What stipulations are there prior to upgrading?
For example - Can I upgrade any Android phone to the latest OS? Or are there requirements the phone has to meet to be upgradeable?
Anyway, I'm considering the Motorola Cliq XT and the HTC MyTouch 3G. What do you guys think?
