Android market download fail..?

I know this is not an answer to you question, but have you found that there are things about your phone that you cannot change, ie, menu items that you cannot remove, or quick select items that you cannot get rid of, even if you know that you will never use them again?

I can't seem to download any paid application on the android market on my HTC Hero... Every time I try it tells me that the application cannot be found... :(
