Ancient Civilizations: Sumerians.?

David, the Sumerian culture lasted a thousand years, and in some ways is still with us today in Iraq and parts of Iran. If you look at the top of this page, there is a box with the word "Search" in it. Roll the cursor over it and it becomes highlighted. Type "Sumerians" into that box, and it will yield tons (maybe pounds) of links into this, one of the oldest cultures.

I have a couple of questions about the Sumerians. I am doing an Ancient Civilizations project for my world history class and i'm having trouble on what to write about.

So do you guys think you can help me on the following questions?

Who was the leader and what was the daily life like in the civilization?

What were the largest achievements/failures of the civilization?

What ultimately happend to the civilization? How did it end or decline?

Please help me out :(

Achievements include The Code of Hammurabi (Codex Hammurabi) is a well-preserved ancient law code, created ca. 1790 BC (middle chronology) in ancient Babylon. It was enacted by the sixth Babylonian king, Hammurabi.[1] One nearly complete example of the Code survives today, inscribed on a seven foot, four inch tall basalt stele[2] in the Akkadian language in the cuneiform script.[3]
