An insurance plug

This is very true. When I moved from Maryland to North Carolina, I just knew my rate was going to go down. Turns out it went up. I was like WTF??

I'm paying about $650/year for my wife's '09 Heritage and my '09 EGC. through Geico. I thought it sounded like a good deal and cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Progressive was (in my case) way higher, but a couple hundred bucks.

Holy Moly, rumrunner - that's outrageous! One more reason not to live in MA (among many others I keep telling my brother!). I live in the DFW area, have full coverage on 2011 RKC, wife's 09 XL1200C, and my 99 XL1200S. Total for all three is $549 per year through Foremost.

Funny thing is when I added the wife's scoot to the policy, total premium only went up $48 per year because the multi-bike discounts on the other two went up now that there were three bikes instead of two!

Apples and oranges again. As someone already stated, your rates will vary from state to state. Here in the Land of Entrapment insurance is sky high due to a certain portion of the populace driving with NO insurance and DRUNK! I have GEICO only because they were the lowest rate among the high rates quoted by other companies. My premium just came due this September and I decided to shop around. Called Progressive to put the moves on Flo but she told me for the same coverage it would run me $2900 a year for my 2010 StreetGlide and 1999 FXR2 for full coverage. I have a pristine clean driving record with no claims in the past 15 years plus I am now considered a Senior Citizen! WTF???? Geico hits me $1200 a year for both bikes. Its got a WHOLE lot to do with how the companies rate their risk in the geography where you live.
