Can anyone explain the health care package to me that the government is trying to pass? Someone just told me that because I can't afford paying $100 a week for insurance that next year I'll be fined??! Is this true? If so then they can cart my a.. to jail because I will not pay that fine and if they garnish my wages, I'll quit and go on welfare.

No that provisison in the bill have been water down in the finance committee where no one will be find of penalize for not having health care . This is why the insurance industry is up in arm today with their bogus reports ,they want the government to force every american to buy into their health care but the government renege on that part of the bill .

People who don't purchase healthcare may be fined. The amount will likely vary. One possibility will be that the money collected from the fine will go into an account to help you purchase health insurance.
If you truly can't afford health insurance, there will be a system in place to help you purchase it.
The possibility of having a governement option, or requiring employers to offer health insurance is still not completely off the table.
