It's a shame that in europe it's a priority and here its the exception to the rule and you have to be really creative in how you structure your career and life in order to enjoy 1/2 of what they take for granted there.

A regional thing would be much more beneficial if it ran only through high population density areas based on regional line.
New England should have it's own, you can probably link up most of the gulf States from Houston/Austin/Dallas through to New Orleans/Baton Rouge/ through to Montgomery, straight into Florida, and so on per region.
