Amsoil experience

There's going to be a 1000 rumors going around now that Amsoil destroyed an engine.

This is the first for me. My lips are sealed because I just ordered 4 cases of Amsoil.

All full synthetic oil that I've seen that came out of my engine at extreme high temperature was like water. That doesn't mean the viscosity is broken down. I don't think a Harley mechanic has a viscosity meter.
 
Geeez..... What kind of Mechanic (Salesman) worked on that bike? If you think the oil is shot, wouldn't it be shit loads cheaper to just change it and evaluate the noise level from there?
 
my vote is fuel contamination,nice long decel on a long grade,ritchened 0 throttle position to control popping and u get gas in the oil. now its thin and it washes old deposits into the oil turning it black.
 
Im glad Im not the only one it's happened to. I have logged about 100,000 miles in the last 5 years on two different E-Glides. While out on a run across the desert my motor started making a LOT of noise. It sounded like it was coming apart. I limped it home and drained what looked like water out of the motor. The Amsoil 20/50 I had in there lost it's viscosity like no other oil I have ever seen. I didn't do any tear down or anything like that. I filled it with Redline 20/60 and fired it up the clatter went away after a few seconds and then ALL WAS GOOD IN THE WORLD AGAIN! Back to the nice quite running engine. I will never run Amway oil again. This happened about 3 years ago. I never posted about it as I figured nobody was going to listen and all the Amway oil lovers would just give me grief over it.
 
I think it was a filter break down if it didnt bypass then the oil was not circulating therefor the oil stayed in the bottom end, hence all of the noise in the topend. just my opinion and you know what they say about those,
 
Ya mean yer bike doesn't like Amway? bubbles out the pipes? LOL I know typo or ya got the cleanest motor in town he hee
