Hi, I've always wondered how British people are portrayed in America, i.e. in the media etc. Someone on another forum just said that we are portrayed as 'Enlightened' ? I'm not sure what this means?? I've seen Brits in the show 'Friends' (Emilys wedding / family eyc.) I've also seen Brits portrayed in family guy (when they change the Drunken Clam into a British bar?) and there seemed to be a lot of bitterness towards us there (ya limey bastards etc etc.) But I am well aware this is just one mans view of us (Seth McFarlane). I guess you have programmes with Gordon Ramsey in etc.
In general, how are the Brits portrayed ??? How do most Americans feel about things like Tony Blair, when he went to war in Iraq with Bush (something I think was illegal in the first place). Do Americans hate Brits because of this oil spill ? Even though we as the British people have nothing to do with BP?!
Also, what does 'pip pip pip' mean? I hear it on american shows when americans are doing impressions of British people but I have no idea what it means and have never heard a British person say this in the 27 years I've been alive?!? Whats pip pip pip all about??? Weird.
