the reason new york is called that is because when the settlers from england moved there from york(england) they decided to call it the "NEW" york ..is that correct... does that mean all the states with new in them (in america)such as new jersey ..new orleans.... does that mean the english settlers called them that because of the citys in england ??? i know that really doesnt make any sense at all but im in a rush......
