American cars like Honda? I want to buy one?

I have a 2002 Honda Accord, and my dad drives a 2000 GMC Envoy, both about the same mileage. ~100,000+. We have had the Envoy about 4 years and the Accord 3-1/2 years. Since we bought both, the Envoy has cost us about $10,000 in repairs and servicing. The Honda on the other hand never had a problem and drives smooth to this day. The Envoy drives horribly and has hard starts. (The only benefit is 4-wheel drive in snow, and bad-ass headlights).

I spend like $23 every 5,000 miles to tune up my Honda. My mechanic is always annoyed that it never has a problem, and that everything is clean.

I want to buy a new car, and give this Honda to my mom, and I really do want to buy American, but Honda has never failed me and GMC is a money sucker. Should I stick to Honda, or look at Chevy or something.

I want something to last a long time and something that won't kill my pockets. Any thoughts on an American car that is like a Honda Accord?
I'm not too good with car lingo. I meant "servicing" I guess. It only cost me $23. I don't know what to call it. The oil and filter recycling is done. Lube/oil/filter. Safety Check. Stuff like that
