AMD vs. Intel for gaming?

its AMD! they are cheaper and wayyy faster have you even seen the phenom? that is the best one out there! way better than the intel i7
 
I'm not too savvy when it comes to hardware. What are the pros and cons between the Intel and AMD CPUs? Are there any kinds of problems or malfunctions associated with either of the two? More specifically I'm looking for a gaming computer and I've never had a computer with AMD so I wanted to ask around before deciding on a processor.
Also, what differences are there between nVidia and AMD graphics cards?

This is purely a 'what works best for you'.

If you do nothing cpu taxing you will honestly not notice the difference, just go for the cheapest of the two.

However its generally considered Intel is better for high end cpus, AMD is fine for everything else.
