One scene that gave me chills was the phone conversation between Nixon and Frost in Frost/Nixon. Nixon's entire speech was flawless, and the actor delivered it with such perfection, every inflection touched a nerve.

A lot of scenes in Slumdog Millionaire, especially because of the music.
The very first scene when the kids are running away from the officers, through the slums.

Also the escape scene when the boys
[sp]lose Latika.[/sp]

And the scene at the very end
[sp]when Jamal kisses Latika's scar and we see the scene at the train station again, backwards.[/sp]

Oh, and in Volver, when Raimunda starts singing. (I think it's not actually Penélope Cruz singing, but still the scene is beautiful

Crash - Several moments but especially the one mentioned about Matt Dillion's character saving the woman in her car.

The Green Mile
- When John said he wanted to die because he tired of people being ugly to each other.

Hope Floats - When Bernice is screaming for her dad to take her with him and the way he just brushes her off saying he needs time to spend with his new fiance. It's so cold and her screams afterwards give me goosebumps every time.

Steel Magnolias - When M'Lynn breaks down after Shelby's funeral. "I just want to know why!" Shivers beyond belief.

The Devil's Rejects - When Otis is screaming at the man he's about to kill to pray to his god to help and see if he's real.

The Crow - So many moments but especially, "I'm not going to kill you. Your job will be to tell the rest of them that death is coming for them, tonight. And tell them Eric Draven sends his regards." :thud:

Rocky Balboa - When Rocky and Robert Jr. are arguing outside the restaurant, "You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward." So true Rocky. And the way Stallone delivers that whole speech is just so moving. Cheesy but true.

Full Metal Jacket - Two scenes in particular. When Sgt. Hartman is shot by Pvt. Pyle and the scene when they discover who the sniper is and kill them.

Jarhead - When Troy breaks down about not being able to get "their" kill.

Fight Club - When Tyler is burning the Narrator's hand with lyle. That whole speech he gives while doing so is goosebump inducing. Most definitely.

Hi ~Adema~ Doc Roe is my favorite BOB character :sigh: :in_love:

I'm sorry to hear that. Let's hope he doesn't disappoint with his next 2 films ;)

The opening scene in The Sound of Music when Maria (Julie Andrews) is singing on the top of the hill.

First, uuuuh, you like Gene Roe :D Very good taste you have! :)
The only Shymalan movie I thought was really good was The Sixth Sense. Since then he just disappointed me in every way. Sadly.

Green Street Hooligans When Pete is telling Shannon she has to go and he saves his brother's family through his death. And then all the other hooligans realizing what jus happened.

i love that movie! and that scene is creepy!!

hostel- when they are drilling out the chinese girl eye

Oh completely forgot about V for Vendetta---there are a lot of scenes that are amazing in that movie. I'm going to go with the entire ending of that movie!

Running Scared - the whole scene with the paedophiles, from the second Oleg got into the van I had an awful feeling, the single most creepiest scene Ive ever scene in a movie, their yellow house still sends chills down my spine.

Hi everyone  I'm Nati :)
Interesting thread :D
While reading your posts I kept thinking about my favorite scenes, so here it goes:

- Terminator 2: The ending
- What Dreams May Come: when Robin William's character is talking with his wife about a divorce. I always cry when he says: "That's when I realized I'm part of the problem. Not because I remind you. But because I couldn't join you. So I left you alone. Don't give up, okay?"
- V for Vendetta: when Eve reads Valerie's letter
- Wanted: I love James Mcavoy's monologues, especially the last one
- Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire: this is my least favorite movie of the franchise but I love the scene in the cemetery. Ralph Fiennes is great.

Night Shyamalan's movies: I couldn't pick just one. The guy is a genious.

Knowing - [sp]John and Diana screaming at each other over the phone about going to the caves or going to Diana's mothers trailer. I almost started crying, it was so intense.[/sp]

Also, Caleb's fiery vision.

This is so somber and different from the rest of the movie, it really works.

Philadelphia - The whole opera scene. It's such a weird, chilling scene.

Losing Isaiah - When they're taking Isaiah away to live with his birth mom.

THIS! Yes. That last image brings tears to my eyes every single time. It is chilling how their lives turned out looking at them in such a carefree moment.

I agree with that scene, ROCKSTAR. And also, I think the 'flying' scene in 'Titanic'. It's such a beautiful scene.

Revolutionary Road When Leonardo DiCaprio is running on the street after the hospital. With Nemwan's music the scene is just perfect.

Inception After the flight, the airport, the one scene in the house. Again with the music by Hans Zimmer I was so moved.

Finding Neverland When Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore are sitting on the bench and they talk about Freddie's mother.

Hunger The dialogue in the prison. Amazing!

Sleepers The end. When you see the boys young again and you know they can never be that innocent and happy again.

Donnie Darko - "I met a new friend." -- "Real or imaginary?" -- "Imaginary."
(All praise Jake Gyllenhaal. He is a genious and a brilliant actor - I think Donnie Darko is the best movie and the best role he's ever done.)

Thank you so much for that link! :) I'll go read about the movie to have some context to watch the clip.

Oh, good ones! In Passion, when Mary is running after Jesus, watching him at every turn and crying for her son. Oh my goodness, I remember every hair on my arm was standing up.

Maria trying to sing "Somewhere" with Tony, but Tony is dying. :bawl: Then her monologue, "How many bullets, Chino?" Ohhh, good stuff.

That one is awesome.

My favorite scene of all time is the dream/first kiss in Rear Window. It's just perfect the way Grace Kelly comes closer and closer to Jimmy Stewart in slow motion and she looks so unbelievably beautiful. :thud:
