Am I the only one that knows anything about sports cards on here?

I love some of the responses by people on here when a member asks about a value of a card or cards in general. So many people think cards are worthless. Well, if that is the case, and those that think this are just using their cards as costers are really dumber than I thought.

I hear some people say basketball cards aren't worth anything, but baseball cards are. That could not be further from the truth. Hockey rookie cards are the most valuable, followed by basketball, then football, and then baseball.

Here is a little bit about the hobby that I bet you didn't know.

1. Some cards contain game-worn jersey pieces from players jerseys.
2. Many cards are serial numbered to a certain number, ie /25 copies. (this means there are only 25 of that card in the entire world, making each card unique)
3. Many cards now come with an autograph of the player featured on the card. Some cards have up to four signatures of four different players on the same card, ie teammates, draft classes, same position, all-stars, etc...
4. A pack of cards can cost $3.00 or up to $750.00 for a five card pack.
5. Youtube is a hotbed for card collectors. Many people bust packs and boxes on video and post them on Youtube.
6. Some cards feature NBA logo patches off the upper chest of a game worn jersey. These cards are usually numbered 1 of 1. Meaning they are the only ones in the world.
7. A common base card of a player like Kobe Bryant or Lebron James is only worth about $1.00. In contrast, a card that is autographed by Kobe or Lebron is worth $200-$1,000+
8. The most expensive basketball card that sold in 2009 was out of Upper Deck Exquisite. The card featured an NBA logo patch of both Lebron and Jordan and was signed by both players and numbered to only 1 copy. It sold for more than $30,000.
