Am I the next step in evolution?

I seem to have a rare ability to close off my nostrils when I go under water without using my hands at all, much like a beaver or manetee can. I do this by pressing my upper lip flat against my nostrils and slightly inhaling to create a vaccume seal. Water never EVER goes up my nose. Even if I go upside down. I also can't be waterboarded because of this. Is this normal? Or am I a step up on the evolutionary ladder? I just wanna find more people like me.

Since we are land mammels im gonna have to say no lol since we have diving apparatus that can easily out do your ability and hence it having no evolutionary advantage

however its a neat trick to have at the swimming pool, altho in my experience water doesn't seem to go up my nose, dont we have some think at the back of our throat to close it off there? so we dont breath in our food etc...

It sounds like you are going BACKWARDS on the evolutionary scale.
If your upper lip is as big as a chimpanzee's.. to cover your nose.

Advancements in evolution would include:
1. born without an appendix. Humans don't need this anymore.
2. born without wisdom teeth, human jaw is too small for extra useless teeth.
3. Being resistant to infections of all kinds.

I think you just have a big lip, not the missing link between us and whatever is next.
