The business is in my name and so is the power. I gave the past owner 10,000 dollars to buy the business and the shop. My name is not on the lease and the past owner owes over 8,000 to the rent company. If I want to keep the shop going and get the lease in my name, would I be responsible for his past debt? The past owner will not pay his past rent. I've been talking to first allied and they are not moving this process any faster, I just need some advice. Thanks.
