I went to school a week ago. That day, I was in a hurry to catch my bus after school. As I was running down the stairs, i saw something shiny on the floor. My shoes laces were untied. The shoe laces touched it but i'm not sure if my shoes touched it or not. When i got in the bus and almost half way home, i thought "what if that thing was mercury?". The bus ride was long and i slept in the bus and then woke up and realized my stop came. So i got off the bus went home.
Many of you might say "there's no way three could be mercury at school/public place)
But lets say that WAS mercury just in case,
When I came home, I completely forgot about the incident. I took off my shoes and put it on a small carpet (the carpet is like (2m x 1m ) in front of the closet. then i realized that my shoes might HAVE SOME MERCURY ON IT so i placed it in a bag and safelty stored it in the store room. I forgot that i might have contaminated that carpet!
The next day, my parents were walking on that carpet with their shoes on and then walked into the living room after touching that carpet. Would the mercury from MY shoes transfer to the carpet and then tranfer to my parents shoes which then transfer to the carpet in the living room?
